Together with Davide Taibi, Ágnes Sándor, Duygu Simsek, Simon Buckingham Shum and Anna Deliddo, I entered the LAK Data Challenge 2013, associated with the LAK13 conference.
The challenge was phrased as “What do analytics on learning analytics tell us? How can we make sense of this emerging field’s historical roots, current state, and future trends, based on how its members report and debate their research?”
Our paper focused on ‘Visualizing the LAK/EDM Literature Using Combined Concept and Rhetorical Sentence Extraction’.
Davide produced a video explaining our paper.
All entries are available on the challenge website, including the winner, ‘Linked Data based applications for Learning Analytics Research: faceted searches, enriched contexts, graph browsing and dynamic graphic visualisation of data’.
