Eight steps to writing an academic article

My blogpost I most recently refer back to is the one on steps to writing an academic article.

The original post explores each of these eight (with reference to Pat Thomson‘s work on academic writing).

  1. Identify a subject
  2. Identify a journal
  3. Check the journal
  4. Answer a set of questions about focus, audience, debates, methodology, validity and significance
  5. Write an abstract including five key elements
  6. Convert the abstract into a framework
  7. Pick a reader
  8. Check elements including significance, argument and style
  1. Leave a comment
