Doctoral School, Skagen, Denmark

In November 2007, I was funded by Kaleidoscope to attend their virtual doctoral school ‘Networked Learning (e-learning 2.0)’ in Skagen, Denmark.

Fabulous event – great location, interesting talks and seminars and the chance to get out and explore and socialise with each other. We took Etienne Wenger, and many of the rest of the group, geocaching for the first time.

I made a couple of strong international contacts, with whom I’m still working.

Also, more disappointingly at the time, I established definitively that the groups I were studying were not communities of practi e – which shifted the path of my research considerably.
